Russian shoots down an airliner filled with civilians. The remarks by the President include:

“…massacre by the Soviet Union.”

“…crime against humanity.”

“…must never be forgotten.”

“…violating every concept of human rights.”

“…absolutely no justification legal or moral…”

“Is this the practice of other countries of the world? No.”

“..despite the evidence, they still refuse to admit the truth…”

“…murderous attack…”

“Soviet Union against the world…”

“…act of barbarism…”

“I am asking the Congress to pass a joint resolution of condemnation of this crime…”

Of course these were remarks by President Ronald Regan in September 1983 when the Russians shot down Korean Air flight 007.

 

Obama has called this week’s shoot down an “outrage of unspeakable proportions” and a “global tragedy”. He wants the site preserved for international evidence collectors. He is going to “investigate exactly what happened” and is going to make sure the “truth gets out.”  (Sounds a lot like Bill Clinton’s “bring the killers to justice line”.)

“We don’t have time for propaganda,” he said. “We don’t have time for games.” Obama said. That is rich. All he does is obfuscate and conceal when it is something his administration is shady and sneaky about. But now that the Russians have acted like Russians, he is upset and wants to make sure we all know the Russians acted like Russians.

Meanwhile he might add to the economic sanctions against this General or that Colonel. So they can’t import Doritos or have to get Philippine hookers instead of Japanese ones? He isn’t going to do anything—even so much as tell the world what the world already knows. He doesn’t have the sack to call a spade a spade. Kerry, will tongue lash, finger wag, and remind the Russians that they are on the wrong side of history. The Russians will shrug and set their sights on the next world event that propels their new world order vision.

We are no longer a world power, even a super power. Hell, we are not even a regional power. Mexico sees this and keeps and active duty US Marine jailed for over 110 days. Why? Because they can. Obama has not even mentioned the Marine. Mexico, a nation impoverished and corrupt, incapable of sustained and coordinated military action has kidnapped a Marine without fear of recourse.
