I don’t often call in to talk shows even though I listen all I can. Today I called in and got on the Hugh Hewitt show aired on 710 AM. I was calling in to respond to the chatter about Valerie Jarrett’s blurb on the Sunday talk shows. She is B. Hussein’s closest adviser short of maybe Moochelle. She said this on Face the Nation:
“This is why the cease-fire is so important,” Jarrett said in an interview aired Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “It’s a devastating situation. Israel absolutely has the right to defend itself, and we are Israel’s staunchest ally. But you also can’t condone the killing of all of these innocent children.”
Israel can defend itself and we are their best ally/ But we can’t condone this. (So we are NOT their staunchest ally or we would have stopped after saying they should defend themselves.)
My remarks were that I hadn’t heard any of her indignation at the US military for all of the civilian deaths that have come on the nose cone of all of the missiles fired by US drones.
Don’t get me wrong. I am NOT knocking the US for firing missiles from drones. But analyze it for a moment. We shoot missiles at terrorists who hide among civilians. Some of them die. Israel shoots at legitimate military targets that Hamas stations civilians next to. Some civilians die. Civilians are dead both ways even though neither of us targeted them.
See? Her logic don’t not square on both sides of the equation. She just does not have the spine to say what she really thinks. She is upset that those damn Jews are killing people in an occupied land.
Another caller shortly after me landed another solid point when he stated that Jarrett is missing the entire historical context here. She is speaking out against the killing of civilians in a war during the week, indeed merely three days before the 69th anniversary of the US dropping atomic bombs on Japan. We killed hundreds of thousands of civilians on those two days–in the interest of saving millions more by stopping a war.
Her argument is flawed, tainted by her bias and hypocrisy. You are out of your depth Valerie. Go back to something you understand–corrupt Chicago lawyering.
