just wondering

Ever notice how these illegals are not flocking to Canada?  Or Europe?  They are not transitioning through the United States on their way up to Alberta or Quebec.  Nope staying right here.

Ever notice how all these anti-religious groups never sue a Muslim organization?  Mikey Weinstein has never filed suit to stop the Koran from being displayed or read.  Freedom From Religion Organization has never taken to the courts to stop a mandate of women to wear burkhas or veils.  No, but cadets can’t write verses on their own white boards, and the Navy can’t let the Gideons leave Bibles in hotel rooms.

Ever notice how anti-gun activists and the media cherry pick their “exploding gun violence” statistics?  Actually more people die by fire, drowning or falling down than by gun violence (real or accidental).  You are 6 times more like to be killed by your doctor than by (my or yours, or a criminal with) a gun.  http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/08/foghorn/infographic-u-s-gun-usage-and-death-statistics/

I support Israel

I don’t often call in to talk shows even though I listen all I can.  Today I called in and got on the Hugh Hewitt show aired on 710 AM.  I was calling in to respond to the chatter about Valerie Jarrett’s blurb on the Sunday talk shows.  She is B. Hussein’s closest adviser short of maybe Moochelle.  She said this on Face the Nation:

“This is why the cease-fire is so important,” Jarrett said in an interview aired Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “It’s a devastating situation. Israel absolutely has the right to defend itself, and we are Israel’s staunchest ally. But you also can’t condone the killing of all of these innocent children.”

Israel can defend itself and we are their best ally/  But we can’t condone this.  (So we are NOT their staunchest ally or we would have stopped after saying they should defend themselves.)

My remarks were that I hadn’t heard any of her indignation at the US military for all of the civilian deaths that have come on the nose cone of all of the missiles fired by US drones.

Don’t get me wrong.  I am NOT knocking the US for firing missiles from drones.  But analyze it for a moment.  We shoot missiles at terrorists who hide among civilians. Some of them die.  Israel shoots at legitimate military targets that Hamas stations civilians next to.  Some civilians die.  Civilians are dead both ways even though neither of us targeted them.

See?  Her logic don’t not square on both sides of the equation.  She just does not have the spine to say what she really thinks.  She is upset that those damn Jews are killing people in an occupied land.

Another caller shortly after me landed another solid point when he stated that Jarrett is missing the entire historical context here.  She is speaking out against the killing of civilians in a war during the week, indeed merely three days before the 69th anniversary of the US dropping atomic bombs on Japan.  We killed hundreds of thousands of civilians on those two days–in the interest of saving millions more by stopping a war.

Her argument is flawed, tainted by her bias and hypocrisy.  You are out of your depth Valerie.  Go back to something you understand–corrupt Chicago lawyering.

Deployed and unemployed

Imagine yourself in a year-long project at work. You spend most of that year in a different city, away from your family. You can talk to them via Skype or video chats, and have decent email connectivity. You are the project leader with anywhere from 15-200 people in your team based on task load. Then, out of the blue, your boss’s boss’s boss’s secretary informs you via email that your services are no longer needed as soon as your complete the project and then move back to your home town. How excited are you going to be to do a good job, or even finish the project?

Now imagine that you are an Infantry Company Commander (Captain), or an Infantry/Armor/Artillery/Combat Support Executive (XO) or Operations (S3) Officer. And you are deployed to Afghanistan. And you are being shot at by day and shelled regularly by night. And once you redeploy you are going to be severed from employment.

This is happening right now to over 1200 Captains and 550 Majors in the Army.

I don’t know about you. But I know that if I were deployed to a dangerous place, dodging bullets and rockets and then when I was done, if I survived that, I was going to be let go, I would not put myself in the position to get shot at or have to dodge rockets. Why should I? Why risk it? I have a family to think of. Granted, they’ll get the $400K if I catch the magic one, but I’d rather live my life, if it is all the same to you. I stand a much better chance at that if I do not present myself as a target outside the perimeter wire.

Think what that does to unit cohesion and morale? The mid-level leaders of the company and battalion units decide to put themselves before the men and mission. Or worse, they are suddenly yanked out of country. Forcibly redeployed so they can be terminated. Soon the Lieutenants will balk and not go. The senior NCO’s will still go and make the lower enlisted go—at least until they start getting killed. Before you know it, you have a combat unit that is rendered combat ineffective. And it is done by a political and financial decision at home, not by enemy action.

To save money and to be able to keep letting illegals get free social services, and to let their kids go to college at in-state tuition prices—to keep people in their supply of food stamps while they drive to the store in Cadillacs and Hummers, we will sacrifice our national security and enforce a brain drain of mid-level leadership.

Transform the country—just like B. Hussein said he would.

Get us out of the United Nations

Navi Pillay, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has condemned Israel in this latest military action because of the success of Israel’s Iron Dome system. Not because Israel uses it and saves their own civilians lives, but because Israel did not share the technology with Hamas.

Hamas is the Iranian backed terrorist organization that is currently the government in charge in Gaza. Hamas routinely kidnaps Israel Soldiers and civilians and shells Israel with mortars and rockets daily. Hamas does not target military installations. They simply point them and fire. To Hamas, ALL Israelis are legitimate targets.

Israel, on the other hand takes great pains to meticulously target where they fire. They use technology (radar) to pinpoint within feet where a round originated once fired from Gaza. They then analyze whether or not to return fire, many, many times not doing so because Hamas fired from a location near population centers, schools, hospitals, or markets. Hamas makes no such distinctions.

Prime Minister Netanyahu described it perfectly when he said, “Israel uses its rockets to protect her people. Hamas uses their people to protect their rockets.”

Israel with U.S. financial backing developed Iron Dome starting in 2005. It is designed to track and intercept ballistically fired missiles and even 155mm artillery shells before they hit their intended target. It had a spotty initial success rate but has improved dramatically as technology increased. Still quite expensive, the system runs about $20 million per interception. Israel has nine batteries with plans for 15 more.

But the U.N. is upset that only Israel is able to (or bothers to) protect its citizens. Israel should share this technology with Hamas so that the Palestinians who are next to or living among the rocket firing platforms Hamas uses will not be injured. One count shows 25 Israeli Soldiers have been killed while only 2 Israeli civilians have died. Conversely, 86 terrorists have been killed and 406 (69 women and 129 children) human shields (Palestinians) have died.

If you ask me, Israel is culling the herd of future terrorists. By killing the 69 women, they prevent the 4.38 average births per woman to either become terrorists or terrorist factories (women). In contrast, the birth rate in America is 1.89 births per woman. This is below what is caused a replenishment rate. US women need to have a 2.1 birth rate just for the population of the US to remain stable and constant. That it is not demonstrates that eventually there will not BE a United States as we know it. We are not reproducing enough to sustain our own country.

Back to the U.N., though. Navi is upset that Israel does not share this technology to the point of suggesting Israel’s actions to be a war crime. ” Just because Hamas fires rockets indiscriminately aimed at Israeli civilian population centers without provocation and fires them from within its own population centers does not “absolve” Israel from its own legal violations,” Pillay told reporters Thursday.

So, right there, in that statement, a U.N. official confirms they realize that Hama fires into Israel, shooting at civilian centers without provocation or discriminate aiming attempts. They do so from within their own civilian centers, consequently increasing the dangers to themselves and the civilians in the area. But Israel is wrong for not providing Hamas with the technology to limit civilian casualties even while Hamas seeks greater and more gruesome Israeli civilian casualties.

She neglected to mention the three U.N.-run schools (an establishment frequently known to be inhabited by children) where caches of Hamas rockets have been discovered. In two of those case, the rockets were actually returned to Hamas so they could be fired at Israel later. Her Human Rights Council also has yet to even mention the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner over Ukraine.

This woman embodies the reason I believe the United Nations has long since outgrown its purpose. It is now simply and anti-American and anti-Israeli forum housed within the heart of one of our largest cities. We should withdraw from the U.N., and kick them out of New York. Let them find the 22 percent of their entire $5.5 BILLION budget somewhere else.
